The door that eventually closes

Becoming opportunity takers

Picture
I would imagine that the majority of us have a list of things setting on the shelves of our hearts. Things that we want to do. Things that we know we should do. Things God has called us to do. Yet those opportunities and callings that keep knocking on the door of our hearts are held-back by fear.
You know, like fear of the monsters under your bed, spiders on….

What’s that, you are past that stage?

Why is that? Hold on. Wait. I think I know the answer.

YOU DISCOVERED THEY WERE LIES.

You got more mature. Your age became beyond the “monster” stage, and you quickly—or perhaps slowly—came to realize that it was silly to be afraid of something so fake. What a waste of time!

That’s how you need to look at the fears that inhabit you now. Is God calling you to take a step, but you are too afraid to take it? Is there a passion burning within your heart that hasn’t escaped fear’s grip. Is there a talent that has been enslaved to a fearful mindset?

Just like the monsters, THE FEARS THAT ENSLAVE YOUR HEART ARE ONLY LIES.

Lies from Satan himself.

“Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced HIS perfect love” (1 John 4:18).

If God places something in your heart, his all-consuming LOVE will push all of the lies of fear and insecurity out of the way, so his calling can escape.

Besides, doors close eventually. So take–up the opportunities that God brings into your heart, and don’t let mere lies of fear hold you back.
