20 Lessons I've Learned in 20 Years of Life

#1  If the Bible isn’t true, then a handful of people spanning over a thousand years of history have successfully mastered the greatest scheme known to man.

#2  It’s impossible to live without faith. To live without faith is to call yourself a “know-it-all.”

#3  Faithfulness is more fruitful than fame.

#4  Relationships carry you when you feel like you have nothing left. Especially a relationship with God.

#5  People will respect who you are if you remain consistent long enough. Don’t believe for a second that “fitting-in” is better than “sticking-out.”
#6  God doesn’t always show us “why,” but He never leaves us to suffer alone.

#7  “Smart” is a relative term. Nobody is stupid. People are knowledgable in different ways.

#8  Take time to talk with “outcasts.” Jesus doesn’t see them that way.

#9  You will experience pain. But how you handle that pain makes all the difference. Who or what do you run to? The Bible is my safe place.

#10  Falling in love with someone doesn’t look like a Disney movie. He/She won’t complete you. Only Christ can do that.

#11  Having boundaries is a noble thing. Refusing to listen to certain music, watch certain movies, or go certain places for the sake of your proximity to Christ is nothing to be ashamed of. No matter what people say.

#12  God’s will often looks more like stepping stones than destinations. God leads us to different people or places. But that doesn’t mean He wants us to stay forever.

#13  People always have an opinion. But they hardly ever know the whole story.

#14  Taking care of yourself is far from anti-biblical. A simple jog does wonders. I’ve never regretted it.

#15  Be patient with people. Give them grace. Just because they don’t look like what you think they should doesn’t mean you should write them off.

#16  You don’t need to stay “up-to-date” on everything or everyone. Deleting social media from your phone might be the single best thing you do today.

#17  Do the very best you can at everything you do. Even when it seems like a waste of time. Trust me, it’s not. The character you show now will affect how hard you work later. Cheating is a dead end, not a shortcut.

#18  Sometimes, the best advice you give someone is nothing at all. Just be present and listen.

#19  Reading your Bible will change your life.

#20  Walk with humility. Don’t feel the need to promote yourself. God will give you everything you need to serve Him well.
